DO YOU BELIEVE FENG SHUI?

You can answer that the same way you answer the question, "Do you believe in the weather?" It is grotesque to ask someone if they believe in the weather. The weather is there whether you believe in it or not. However, you have the choice of whether, for example, when it rains

you are grateful for the water nourishing your plants,
you go under a protective roof to avoid getting wet or
you ignore the rain and suffer the consequences of a chill.

You have the same possibilities with the room and garden design according to Feng Shui. You can translate the term "Feng" with "wind" and the term "Shui" with "water". Wind and water are natural forces that are distributed over the entire globe in stronger or less strong form. On the one hand you can try to ignore the wind or on the other hand you can become aware of its presence and strength and decide how to deal with it.

Are you happy that the wind blows away all the withered leaves? Or do the biting wind bring tears to your eyes?
Do you jump on your surfboard at the right time and use the power of the water to ride the wave? Or does the mass of water overwhelm you and submerge you?

THE POWERS OF THE PHASES

As a Feng Shui expert, we perceive the forces that act around a city, a settlement, a housing complex, a garden, a building, an apartment, a room, a piece of furniture. The art lies in using uplifting, supportive energies for yourself and to soften or redirect downward, demanding energies. You can do this by balancing Yin & Yang - the opposites like light/dark, deep/high, edgy/round, loud/quiet - or the balance within the 5 phases: Water, Fire, Metal, Wood and Earth.

How do these natural forces show themselves in space?

Through color: while a red tablecloth is assigned to fire, a lightning blue curtain corresponds to water.
Through form: a heavy, wide, flat dresser corresponds to the earth element. A columnar, towering, ceiling-high lamp corresponds to the wood element.
By material: a round coffee table with an aluminum frame belongs to metal, a square sandstone slab to earth.
By the chosen position of a piece of furniture: the south contains fire energy, the north water energy. The east is home to wood and the west to metal.
By the direction used: just as there are early risers, there are night owls. For one it strengthens to look to the east while working, for the other it means dazzling sun rays in the early morning.

CAN YOU LEAN BACK NOW?

Is it enough now if I put a pyramid-shaped red vase with a blooming rose with pointed thorns in the corner of the room? Sit down, lean back and wait for happiness? No, definitely not!
